Electrical Engineer by the Federal University of Parana, in Brazil, Linux and free software advocate since 1999. Migrated offices to Linux and saved hardware by the use of LTSP - Linux Terminal Server Project. Database specialist since 1995, works today with PostgreSQL e MySQL. As a PostgreSQL consultant, works at 4Linux Free Software Solutions, where suports and instructs customers. Is a PHP developer and Assembler programmer for some microprocessors.

Flavio started to work with databases in 1995 when learned that the SQL language and relational databases were the most incredible way of retrieving data in an organized way. It was a case of love in first sight. After 4 years developing systems that used databases, Flavio met PostgreSQL and started to develop systems with it, and learned how open source was a great way of doing things. Today, Flavio is trying to improve his technical knowledge and proficiency to make incredible things with PostgreSQL, like supporting the Multicanal project at Caixa Economica Federal, a fast public system that just can't stop. Caixa is the bank of the brazilian people and the services that depends on PostgreSQL are too important for everybody. Flavio also supports the DataSUS PostgreSQL databases. DataSUS is the information technology service for the brazilian health system, and their systems are nationwide too. He is the responsible for trainning in both government customers and other 4Linux customers too.
