Dracones
A PostgreSQL/MapServer WebGIS application for Public Health Surveillance
We make extensive use of PostgreSQL and its spatial extension PostGIS.
We use this for the development of a Web application/framework for Public Health Surveillance, with two goals:
(1) to provide a way to manage and visualize spatial information about cases of disease in a flexible and portable manner, and
(2) to provide a way to easily connect to external statistical and analytical software (in particular we make use of the SaTScan software).
