PGCon2012 - Final Release

PGCon 2012
The PostgreSQL Conference

Daniel Farina

Daniel Farina is currently a member of the Heroku Department of Data, where he and his colleagues bear the yoke of the largest hosted-PostgreSQL deployment in the known universe.

Daniel first encountered with Postgres at Berkeley, in the mid 2000s. Joining Heroku at the beginning of 2011, one of his major duties there has been the development and maintenance of software that enables Heroku's durability, disaster recovery, and replication features. This software is available to all as an open source project. Prior to Heroku, he developed an affection for PostgreSQL's implementation at database start-up named Truviso, where he worked on many features of a proprietary streaming database variant of PostgreSQL.

His current interests include authoring a wonderfully well-designed high-availability software and tweaking the logical models supported by PostgreSQL to provide a superior development experience.
