Alex Ming Lai

Alex Lai has worked for ADNET System, Inc. for the past two years as the senior database administration responsible for managing the back-end metadata server in providing data management and processing support at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center. He is amazed by the great performance of Postgres Database and the Open Source Community that provides great opportunities to share and gain experiences from other professionals.

Alex Lai has over ten years of database administration experience with Oracle and Postgres. For the past two years, he has worked for ADNET Systems, Inc. providing data management and processing support at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center. One of his responsibilities includes managing the back-end metadata server for the Ozone Monitoring Instrument aboard the Aura spacecraft. Some of his most recent challenges have been upgrading to Postgres 9.04, implementing streaming replication, and syncing data across different representations. Before working as a database administration, he was a database developer for the Science Database Processing Center, Human Genome and other data mining tools.
